With changing times,
the scope and the way offices are run have changed. Gone are the days when all
commercial activities used to be restricted to just one area. Offices have now
moved out of the business district and are looking at other cheaper options. Mumbai
being such a huge city, there are business districts in several parts of the
city. Also, the emergence of the startup culture has meant that people have
opened up offices almost everywhere, literally. This has made it much easier
for people to stay close to their offices.
The problem that
earlier generation faced was that the business district was all wound up in one
place and staying in a place nearby meant paying extremely high rents. Buying a
flat was also out of question, unless you had a lot of money. However, with the conception of newer business
districts in various parts of the city, it has become affordable. Some are at
walking distances from people’s homes. For instance, those of them staying in
Andheri East or having a property inGoregaon East can have an easier time while commuting to work. This would
mean fewer expenses. While, as a city, Mumbai is easier on the pocket as
compared to other cities when it comes to commuting, it is the rush that is
usually difficult to handle. Since Mumbai is a city that never sleeps, having
a home close by means it is easier to deal with the erratic timings.
Taking a cue
from this, developers in the city have started developing townships to cater to
the needs of the working class. Jaycee Homes, a well known name in the industry,
has taken the lead in this department. Since many people are now shifting base
towards IT, realtors are keen on providing homes for this segment.
All these development
activities have resulted in many individuals shifting to have a house closer to
their workplace. The demand for both rented homes as well as those being bought
has skyrocketed. This demand has also been fuelled because of excellent
amenities like, swimming pool, club-house, lounge, gyms, etc. are being
provided. The option of fully furnished and semi-furnished housing is also
available.
With the city about to witness a massive change
in infrastructure in the coming years, things will only get better. This fact
can be substantiated by the fact the metro rail and monorails have added a new
dimension to the city along with the pre-existing modes of transports. All
these factors have resulted in people preferring to buy a property which is
closer to their workplace.
